Itinerary

Day 1 - Arrival & Hot Springs

Our bilingual driver will pick you up from the Liberia airport and whisk you away on a journey through Costa Rica's rolling hills to your hotel in Arenal.

At night, relax your body on thermal waters feed from Arenal Volcano to start your vacation.

Overnight: Arenal, mid-range hotel

Day 2: Waterfall Rappel in the Lost Canyon & Rafting in the Balsa River

Rise and shine to start your Lost Canyon waterfall rappelling and Balsa River rafting combo:

You won't find Lost Canyon on any map. Hidden under the rainforest canopy, you can't see it from the air. In some places, the canyon walls squeeze so close together you can reach out and touch them with both hands. At others, the gorge opens wide exposing waterfalls plunging more than 200 feet to the river below.

Bright orange flowers fall from the Poro trees that line the banks of the Balsa River. Shaped like tiny machetes, the orange flowers cling to the sides of the raft and slide off in the rapids. Rafting the Balsa takes first-timers through the Costa Rican countryside on class II and III rapids along a seven-mile stretch of river.

Day 3- Skim across Lake Arenal to Explore Monteverde Cloud Forest Reserve

Take in all the views of Arenal Volcano and Cerro Chato as you cross the man-made Lake Arenal by boat on your way to Monteverde. Clouds curl over the continental divide drifting through the forest creating one of the most unique habitats on the face of the earth. Inside the Monteverde Cloud Forest Reserve, three-hundred-year-old trees twist toward the skies, weighed down with layers of bromeliads and moss in a spectacular scene at the heart of every childhood fantasy; one where at every moment you expect a fairy to pop out from a hollowed log.

Day 4: Zip Line, Hanging Bridges & Escape To Samara

Plunge into the canopies of the wet, vibrantly green cloud forest surrounding the 13 cables, 18 platforms and 25-foot Tarzan swing that make up a two-hour zip line tour. The tour begins in the middle of the forest with you zipping through the canopy and landing on platforms built around massive tree trunks hundreds of feet in the air. As the tour progresses, the lines get longer and higher until guests are soaring out over valleys above the forest canopy. Explore the different layers of the rainforest on Selvatura's treetop loop; a trail meandering 1.5 miles through the cloud forest over eight different suspension bridges ranging from 150 to more than 500 feet long; some reaching heights of 180 feet above the forest floor. Standing on the bridges, you have the opportunity to look inside the canopies of some cloud forest's tallest trees – a unique habitat for thousands of species plants and home to monkeys, coatis, snakes and frogs.

Day 5: Enjoy Samara Beach on your own in the morning and Kayak to Chora Island & Snorkeling

Explore the exotic surfside town of Samara, get caught up in the local flavors by eating at a soda and enjoy the beach. Kayak through the Pacific to Chora Island. Don a mask, snorkel and some flippers then head out among the rocks and reef off the island. Look closely among the coral and you might see giant blue and tropical parrotfish, silver jack, damselfish, queen angelfish, grouper and parrotfish. Regain your energy, munch on some fresh fruit, take in the scenery and prepare for the trip back. Trip includes experienced local guides, equipment, a snack and round-trip transportation from your hotel.

Day 6 Explore Tamarindo, Conchal, Flamingo

Explore the coves and bays along the northern coastal dry forest of Guanacaste with pink, golden-brown, white and wild black sand beaches. Stroll along Flamingo Beach, experience the serene Potrero Bay, enjoy the lively beaches of Tamarindo. Don’t forget to bring your swimsuits, towel, and sunscreen!

Day 7: Explore the Papagayo Peninsula Beaches & Choose Your Level of Excitement!

Soak up the sun in the Papagayo Peninsula exploring the quaint coves and calm beaches. Tempisque River Float Float down the Tempisque River on a raft chasing wildlife and its calm waters. Relax at the reflection of the waters of one of the largest river of the province that province where most wildlife comes to zip water. Or, ATV Papagayo Tour Explore Papagayo natural beauty on ATV among river canyons in a private farm.

Day 8: Enjoy Playa Conchal in the morning & Airport Transfer

Enjoy your last few hours of relaxation at the beach and get ready for your transfer to Liberia Airport.
